Summary:

A monster invasion began soon after Hyun-soo moved into his new apartment. Looking to start a new life or simply leave his old one after his family dies, he moved into this new place in search of something different. He had plans far different from what has happened, well just about everyone in that apartment complex had different plans before the invasion began. The neighbors were locked in their apartment left alone to fend for their lives as they survive against the monsters.

Review:

I never expected I would like this kind of monster genre. As a fan of lore and myths, I appreciated the monstrosity that was created by the authors and the illustrator. They were able to create a world that is distinguishably our own only a lot darker and sinister. It was as if I was reading something that hoped to look at what we would all look like if we all succumbed to all our evils without thinking of the consequences it can have on us or the people around us.

If people are looking to read something thought-provoking and will have a comment on society, this is the manhwa to read. It begs to answer questions like: What is evil? Are desires evil? Can having a desire be evil? The webtoon explores human complexity and talks about the balance of good and evil and our desire to lean on one and fight the other. I really really liked the use of symbolism through out the narrative. Very understandable in one reading, but it does warrant a second or third reading so as to fully appreciate the minute details. It’s only 140 episodes long meaning it is a pretty quick read plus you get so immersed in the storytelling that you would want to get into the next episode faster. If there was a downside to this is that the ending gets kind of muddled. (SPOILER ALERT!!!) I don’t quite understand where the eggs have come from or was it fully explained why there were monsters or where they came from. They just happened to be there.
