I’m a multi… hobbyist?

What activities do you lose yourself in?

I did a quick Google search for a term to call with someone who has a lot of hobbies and according to it, I am called a multipotentialite. Well, let’s just keep it simple = a multi-hobbyist.

Reading

This is my number ONE hobby. When people ask me what my hobbies are, I immediately say this one as it trumps over my other hobbies. No matter what other hobbies I have acquired through the years, I almost always revert back to this. My parents are avid readers: my father an English professor and my mother a textbook writer for almost 20 years. With the two of them starting off the book collections, our house has books on critical theory, classics, languages, American classics, British classics, theology books, philosophy, law, etc.,. Then later on, they have encouraged us to buy the books that we wanted (firstly with supervision until they are very confident with the books that we choose). Though currently, I have more books stored than I have read. But I promise I will read all those books one day.

This is the main reason why I have the blog and they are the reasons why I have a relatively expansive book collection.

Writing

I have thought of becoming a professional writer, once; I loved writing so much that I have the absolute want and perseverance to pursue it professionally. I absorbed all those that I have read and created that a prose that is pretty much my own. I have notebooks and notebooks to prove my itch to write. Day in and day out, I find ways to write something, even if it’s just writing on the notes app on my phone.

Watching

I love watching movies and TV shows, mainly the former. I have been watching movies since I can remember. And I can really thank my parents for their wonderful movie choices. They loved the classics and showed me what made them really brilliant movies. They showed my siblings and I the works of brilliant actors, directors, writers, producers, and composers. Just like the books, we sat with our parents talking about movies, the ins and outs of everything.

My father, who alongside teaching English taught Digital Media, showed us the behind the scenes of the production industry. Because of this, we have an idea of the work put into movie magic and thus more appreciation for it.

I do have a special mention for … Knitting! My mom introduced me to knitting and crochet and I got hooked into it. So far, I have made scarves — that’s about it ~
