I think that it is about time I introduce the blog and shop with saying something other than: I write stuff.

Soooo…. the billion dollar question: who is Howard?

Howard is a bear. He is the face, the mascot, and the inspiration behind all the designs, the “atmosphere”, and/or the vibe of the entire blog.

Howard is a little camera shy sooooooooooooo…. All we get is an avatar of what he looks like. Maybe one day we get to have a proper picture of him; but this suits him just fine.

He is a 28-year-old brown bear wearing a blue and green t-shirt that sits by his “kid’s” table as she does her thing.

So, who is this kid?

Well, this “kid” is technically not a kid anymore, but a full-grown adult and her name is Paula and that is me. I am the creator of this entire blog.

I read the books, read the webtoons, watch the TV shows, watch the movies, write the posts, design the posts, schedule the posts, and do the social media things. I also own the shop, do a lot of the cutting, slicing, splicing, gluing, pasting, printing, and then sending products to the post office.

So, the next question is why did it take me quite a while to say who I was and Howard is? Firstly, I wanted some kind of anonymity just simply write what I want to write. But at this point, it does seem counterintuitive because I have been promoting this website and shop to a lot of people using my name. So, no anonymity in there.

Secondly, history, I guess. There is a long history of women using men’s names as their pseudonym when they first started writing, a nom de plume. Throughout history, there is prejudice against women writers so they had to cover up their identity using other names. Now there is not much, or any, prejudice against that but I like history and literature. So, here we are.

For those curious here are a list of authors that used pseudonyms:

  • Mary Evans → George Eliot
  • The Bronte Sisters → Currer, Ellis, and Acton Bell
  • Elizabeth Gaskell → Cotton  Mather Mills
  • J.K. Rowling → Robert Galbraith

Anyway, it just began with me writing and setting up everything, now I am joined by two other people: meet my minions (i.e.., my siblings).

Meet Pammy, she does things. Like the most random things that needs to be done like cut the things that can’t be done by me anymore. She also sometimes does the social media. Technically what needs to be done.

Lastly, meet Martin. He is the artist behind all the products. We collaborate on what the next product should be and he works his magic. I just edit.

That’s all that’s the team!

Enjoy reading and shopping!
